They have undertaken highly specialised accredited training in the assessment, diagnosis, formulation, and psychological treatment of mental health, behavioural, and emotional disorders across the lifespan. What is a Dietitian?

Dietitians specialise in interpreting nutritional science to provide evidence based dietary advice people can use in their real lives. The dietetic service at Resolve is provided by an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Accredited Nutritionist (AN). APDs have studied at University for four or more years and most are members of Dietitians Australia. This means that they must follow a strict Code of Conduct and Ethical Guidelines, as well as receiving ongoing professional development.

What Dietetic care do you offer?

Our Dietitian is able to assist adult clients with a wide range of nutritional matters, however, is highly dedicated to, and invested in, ongoing professional development and specific additional training to provide the most up to date treatments around eating behaviours, relationship with food, eating disorders and most recently, the influence of neurodiversity on how people experience both food and their body. The Resolve Dietitian understands eating is complex and is invested in exploring the “why” around eating rather than simply “what and when”. They are committed to best practice of a multidisciplinary approach to treatment of eating concerns and will work collaboratively with you, your GP and other health professionals involved in your care, e.g. Psychologist.

You can expect Dietetic care at Resolve Psychological Services to be:

Do I need a Referral?

A referral is not required to see us at our private clinic, conveniently located in Wollongong CBD. However, a partial rebate for your appointment may be available, if you visit your GP and obtain The Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative (e.g., Mental Health Care Plan, Eating Disorder Treatment Plan, Chronic Condition Management Plan).

What is your Fee Schedule?

The cost of a consultation at Resolve varies depending on which Clinician you see and the length of appointment required. The APS Board sets recommended fees each year. Our standard fees are discounted in comparison to the APS recommended rate.

We are not a bulk billing practice and there is an out-of-pocket cost for consultations. Please contact our service for information on our fee schedule.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Our cancellation policy is important to know because it may affect you from time to time. When your appointment is booked, your clinician reserves this session just for you. When appointments are cancelled with short notice, it is often too late to book in another client. Because of this, short notice cancellations impact:

  • Your clinician who takes time to prepare materials and content before your scheduled session;
  • Your treatment progress; and
  • Another client who urgently needs an appointment and is on a waiting list.

This means we will require at least 24hr notice of non-attendance. Appointments cancelled with 0-24 hours’ notice will incur 100% of the consultation fee. This fee cannot be claimed from Medicare or private health funds.

Telehealth sessions can be offered as an alternative. For cancellations we kindly request that you directly contact your individual clinician via SMS or phone call. Your cooperation in using these channels will help us streamline the cancellation process effectively.

We send out reminder texts that include the date and time of your session to help you keep track of appointments. Please check these texts carefully and contact your clinician as soon as possible to reschedule appointments to avoid the inconvenience of a cancellation fee.
